Previous Formal Tutoring Experience:
08/19/02- 05/13/03 Literacy Tutor, Americorp ACEE program: My duties included planning for lessons, attending weekly meetings and participating in group volunteer events with other Americorp members. I tutored 1st graders in bilingual education at Sims Elementary. I was paired with three children and taught them individually.

Casual Tutoring Experience:
I have two brothers in High School who constantly phone me at odd hours of the day/night for help with their Chemistry, History, and Algebra studies (usually right before one of their tests). I enjoy helping them out, but I usually give them my schpeel of "You shouldn't start studying hours before a test". And their response is: "But I got an A because of you." Who can be upset after that compliment?
Which leads me to the "Why do you want to be a tutor" question. My response: I want to be a positive influence in someone's academic record. I like to help people succeed in their goals.
Hobbies:I graduated from UT-Austin in 06 w/ a Journalism degree. That there speaks that I like to write. At the same time, I love all things technology. I've been a technical writer for about 1.5 years. In the Fall 08, I'm going back to school to study Pharmacy.
